Borchardt Elementary School

‘Every day’ car riders will be dismissed as normal.

ALL walkers (K-5) who will be picked up in a car, will be dismissed from the 3rd-5th car line.  No longer will parents drive in the K-2 line to pick up their child/children.

  • Rainy day dismissal will occur on days with significant rainfall, thunder, and/or lightning.
  • There is no need to contact the school to say your child will be a ‘car rider’ on a rainy day.
  • If you drive to school to pick up your child/children, you will be driving through the 3rd-5th car line on Waskom Street
  • To allow time for the ‘every day’ car riders to be picked up, we are asking parents of walkers to arrive in the car line close to 3:15.
  • At this time, all students will be waiting quietly outside under the carport listening for their names to be called.
  • Please have your sentence strip in clear view so teachers can see it easily when calling names.
  • Once all cars are loaded, the kids who are still under the carport will be escorted to the front of the building to walk home.  It may be close to 3:30
  • If you decide to walk to school to pick up your child, you will wait at the front of the building.  There is no need to arrive before 3:15 because you will not be able to pick up your child until all cars are gone and the children are escorted to the front of the building.

With your help in following these procedures, we can ensure the safety of the children.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.
