Being named Principal of Joyce Kelley Comstock Elementary School has proven to be one of the most significant and exciting events in my life. Education has always been a passion of mine, and I am honored to touch and build tomorrow by ensuring that each student who walks through Comstock’s doors is equipped with a solid social, emotional, and academic foundation.
The end of this school year will mark my twenty-fourth year in education. In the fall of 1995, I earned my BA in Education from St. Edward's University where I was a member of the Lady Hilltopper Women's Volleyball Team. Immediately after graduation, I took a job teaching third grade at Will Davis Elementary school in the Austin Independent School District. I finished out the year there, and then accepted a job at River Oaks Elementary in the Pflugerville Independent School District. I served there for 10 years, and taught first, second and third grades. Eleven years ago, my family and I moved to Frisco. I accepted a position at Claude Curtsinger Elementary school, and taught third grade for four years. While serving at Curtsinger, I completed my Master's Degree in Educational Administration and received my Principal Certification from Concordia University. Before opening Comstock, I served as the Assistant Principal at Anderson Elementary for three years.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family. We enjoy traveling, sports, outdoor activities, and spending quiet time together.
I am looking forward to yet another wildly successful year at Joyce Kelley Comstock Elementary!

Kristie Garrett
Assistant Principal

Hello Comstock!

My name is Kristie Garrett, and I am honored to serve as the Assistant Principal of Joyce Kelley Comstock Elementary. This upcoming school year will be my 11th year with Frisco ISD. I spent my first 8 years at Ogle Elementary where I taught 3rd, 4th and 5th grade.  The past two years I have had the privilege to serve as the Instructional Coach at Curtsinger Elementary.  I am so thankful for my journey with FISD, because I have met some incredible families, friends and mentors along the way.

I grew up in a small town in Southeast Texas near Beaumont. After graduating from Orangefield High School, I moved to College Station for two years before moving to McKinney. I graduated from the University of North Texas in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. In 2015, I completed my master’s degree in Public School Administration from Texas A&M University. Whoop!

I could not be more excited to join the Comstock family!
