Fisher Fourth Graders Demonstrate Bal-A-Vis-X Exercises

Jun 04, 2014

Students at Fisher Elementary recently showed off their skills using racquetballs in a series of coordinated exercises of increasing complexity.

By the end of their presentation at Good Morning Fisher, fourth graders in Mrs. Johnston's and Mrs. Heald's classes were using chairs and tables as part of their demonstration.

Bal-A-Vis-X stands for Balance/Auditory/Vision eXercises, all of which are deeply rooted in rhythm.

Students in several classrooms use the Bal-A-Vis-X exercises as "brain breaks" to promote balance, hand-eye coordination and thinking.

Bal-A-Vis-X requires focused attention, demands cooperation, promotes self-challenge, and fosters peer teaching.
