Did you know?
When fathers are involved, their children learn more, perform better in school and exhibit healthier behavior. Even when fathers do not share a home with their children, their active involvement can have a lasting and positive impact. The Education Department is working for fuller recognition and inclusion of fathers in all of their programs because of the huge impact fathers can have on their kids.

What is the WatchD.O.G.S program?

The watchdog program is, in my opinion, the best program of them all. It stands for Dads of Great Student and it's simply spending the day at the school with the kids, being visible, being that important male role model for our kids.   Your may will consist of helping the kids at the car drop off locations, helping them at lunch (opening things), reading to selected students, possibly helping in PE, Music or Art, helping the front desk with delivering items to the class room, etc.   We are encouraging dads, granddads, uncles, etc… to sign up as often as they would like. It’s especially fun to volunteer on or close to your child's birthday!

To Get Signed Up:

Complete the Frisco ISD background check (follow this link)

https://www.friscoisd.org/about/resources-and-information/background-checks

Purchase a shirt from the watchdog website (the grey one is the preferred option)

We will try to have some at the school for dads to borrow but I encourage you to purchase your own.

Sign up for a date or dates following the link below:

The link also gives instructions on steps to take to get signed up.  The most important thing to remember is to get your background check done asap if you haven’t already done so, because it must be complete and cleared before you serve for the first time.

Make sure you are signing up ahead of time to allow the school time to prepare the activities that will be best for you while you are there.  I will be emailing the school each Friday morning to let them know who will be coming in for the next week so signing up by Thursday night for the following week helps a ton.

I am looking forward to a fantastic year of WatchDOGS in the school!  Thank you all for the time you will spend caring for students at our school!  Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or need additional information.
