Apr 21, 2015

Purefoy PE CoachesPurefoy Elementary P.E. coaches Derek Rodriguez and Jonathan Hoad had to dress up “fancy” for week after students met their Jump Rope for Heart fundraising goal.

Purefoy raised more than $42,000 for Jump Rope for Heart this year. That’s the most of any school in Texas and 11th in the nation.

More than 450 students participated in the event, which is a fundraiser for the American Heart Association.

The event engages elementary students with jumping rope while empowering them to improve their own health and help other kids with heart health issues. Funds raised support heart health research, advocacy for physical education and nutrition wellness in schools and training courses for middle and high school students in CPR.
