Frisco ISD Student Designs Logo for Scott

Jun 09, 2014

es_scott_logoSeveral Frisco ISD schools will debut logos in the upcoming school year designed by advanced graphic design and illustration students at the FISD Career and Technical Education Center.

Students worked with the principals of Independence High School and Bright, Elliott, Hosp, McSpedden and Scott elementary schools to develop unique brands reflecting the identity of each campus.

Students Olivia Bryant and Abbie Soloman designed the Independence logos, Elizabeth Rayes designed the Bright logo, Abbie Soloman designed the Elliott logo, Jolie Guz designed the Hosp logo and Olivia Bryant designed the McSpedden and Scott logos.

“I was extremely impressed with the quality of work, professionalism and attention to detail of these talented students,” said Paige Brewer, principal of Scott Elementary. “It is such a privilege to have our own Frisco ISD CTE students design our logo for Scott and I’m excited to introduce it to families as we welcome our first students in August and build new school traditions.”

Students submitted designs for each school, with the principals selecting their favorite, just as clients would in a professional setting.

“The students really enjoy these projects because they love seeing their designs utilized on a daily basis,” said CTE graphic design and illustration teacher Dianna Bacon. “It also is invaluable experience as they continue to build design portfolios showcasing examples of their work.”

The schools plan to use the images in branding materials and other communications with students, parents and the community at large.
