Scott Elementary School

Dear Parents,

Being named Principal of Janice Stahly Scott Elementary School serves as one of the most significant and exciting events in my life.  I am honored and humbled to be chosen to lead a school in this amazing school district and community.  Ms. Janice Scott is considered a pillar in the education community.  She taught in Frisco ISD for 33 years, most recently serving as the Curtsinger librarian.  She is thrilled to have a school named after her and plans to be actively involved in our campus.

The end of this school year will mark my twenty-second year in education.  In the fall of 1993, I earned my BS in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of North Texas. I completed two master’s degrees from Texas A&M Commerce and Lamar University.

I began my teaching career as a classroom teacher for Frisco ISD in 1994.  From 2002-2010, I served as an instructional math and literacy facilitator with the FISD curriculum department.  In 2010, I joined Bright Elementary as the assistant principal.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Martin and our three boys. Trevor and Mason are Frisco ISD graduates.  My youngest son, Cooper is currently a 9th grader at Frisco High School. Mason just graduated from SMU and is currently working for Oracle in Austin.  Trevor graduated from Texas State and is currently working for Charles Schwab in Austin. We also have a 7 year old granddaughter, Brenlee, that is starting 1st grade in Austin.

We love having the halls filled with students and families of Scott Elementary.  I look forward to working closely with you and your children this year, and I am confident our 2nd year will be filled with excitement and success, just like our first year.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions; I can be contacted at  I look forward to meeting all of you this year.
