Taylor Elementary School

Hello, I'm Christy Garza.  I am thrilled to be serving as Principal of Portia Ross Taylor Elementary! My hopes for each school year are that we join together as a community to help all students grow their potential as learners, excel in their social development, develop a healthy self-concept, and foster a love for lifelong learning.

Lifelong learning is a priority for me. I earned a M.Ed. degree from Lamar University in the area of School Administration. I also hold a M.Ed. degree in School Counseling and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of North Texas. I am certified in the areas of School Administration and School Counseling. My teacher certification areas include K – 12 Special Education, Generalist 1 – 8, and English as Second Language supplemental.

My past experiences as a special education teacher in the middle school setting, counselor in both middle and elementary settings, and assistant principal have well-prepared me to serve as your school principal. My prior district experiences have included Irving ISD and Lewisville ISD. All campus experience has been at Title I campuses.

I am honored to be serving students here in Frisco ISD! I take a child-centered and collaborative approach to leadership. At the center of every decision I consider is students, including my own which walks the halls of Taylor. My husband and I chose to raise our two boys in this area where we knew our children would receive a stellar education living in a community where family fun is a priority. I am glad to be partnering with you.
