Liscano is a proponent of all students finishing high school and pursuing further education through college, job training or the military. Liscano devoted much of his adult working life assisting FISD leaders to help young people in need stay in school. Liscano and fellow school namesake Rick Reedy mentored and helped many students dealing with financial hardship find work yet finish high school.
