Xello Volunteer Instructions
Although volunteer hours are not mandatory for graduation, they can certainly look good to a scholarship committee or on a college resume. If a student completes 100 hours of community service before April 1st of his/her senior year, the student will be recognized at graduation with a white cord and a notation in the program.
LTHS uses Xello to record volunteer hours.
- Log into your Xello account, click the About Me link on the left-hand side of the page.
- Scroll down until you get to the Experiences box.
- Click on Volunteer and fill out the information about your volunteer experience. All blanks must be filled
- Put the name and email of the person in charge of the activity in the description of your service. **Students/Friends/Family members will not be accepted as contacts for verification.
- Keep track of the hours you input.
- ALL COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS MUST BE SUBMITTED TO XELLO IN THE SCHOOL YEAR IN WHICH THEY ARE PERFORMED.
- You may use hours from the summer before freshman year up until April 1st of your senior year.
- Community service submissions with a large quantity of hours and/or over several months must be broken down into separate monthly submissions.
