A Prosper native, Shana K. Wortham joined Frisco ISD in 1998 as the first staff member dedicated to communications and community relations. She quickly became a go-to resource for staff, parents, and community members as she established the FISD Communications Department.
Always willing to lend an ear and offer assistance and support, Wortham was known for her ability to listen, understand, and respond to the needs of the FISD community. She prioritized personal relationships, community connections, and strong partnerships between parents and teachers.
Wortham played a pivotal role in forging a relationship with the City of Frisco during a crucial period of rapid growth. For nearly two decades, her measured leadership and forward thinking helped FISD navigate tremendous change while welcoming thousands of new families.
She worked with staff and elected trustees to help preserve District traditions while also making way for new ideas and contributions.
Wortham successfully brought people from a wide variety of backgrounds together to support FISD students. That sense of community involvement in all aspects of FISD continues today.
