Frisco High School

Carter Blood Care: Red Cord Program Change

Sep 17, 2015

Attention Frisco HS class of 2017 and all future graduating classes:  Carter Blood Care has made a change in the Red Cord Program!  Beginning with the class of 2017, all students wishing to earn a Red Cord to wear at graduation for donating blood will need to donate 4 times in your high school years to earn the cord.  All students wanting to donate blood must be 16 years old and have a signed permission slip.  Students who are 17 years of age or older do not need a parent permission slip signed to donate blood.

In the past, you were only required to donate twice in your senior year to earn the cord. So, current juniors will need to participate in both Frisco HS campus blood drives this school year and both drives their senior year to meet the 4 donation requirement to earn the Red Cord.  If you cannot donate at the blood drive held on campus, offsite donations can be made to earn credit towards the Red Cord.  Frisco HS will be hosting blood drives October 9th, 2015 and March 4, 2016. Signs ups for the October 9 th drive will begin one week before.
