Frisco High Student Helps Homeless as Part of Class Project

Jan 12, 2016

Frisco High School senior Victoria Connell solicited donations to fill 'hope' bags for the homeless as part of her participation in the Independent Study and Mentorship (ISM) program.

Connell is studying ministry/mission work as part of the class, which is designed to help students explore a chosen career field and determine if it is the right path for their future.

Connell sent emails and distributed fliers to collect everyday items such toothpaste, hand sanitizer and water for the bags, which were given to the Frisco Police Department to keep in their squad cars for when they encounter homeless residents.

Police say the bags will help fill an ongoing need in the department.
