Frisco ISD Students Design Logos for Independence

Jun 09, 2014

Several Frisco ISD schools will debut logos in the upcoming school year designed by advanced graphic design and illustration students at the FISD Career and Technical Education Center.

These talented students worked with the principals of Independence High School and Bright, Elliott, Hosp, McSpedden and Scott elementary schools to develop unique brands reflecting the identity of each campus.

Olivia Bryant and Abbie Soloman designed the Independence logos, Elizabeth Rayes designed the Bright logo, Abbie Soloman designed the Elliott logo, Jolie Guz designed the Hosp logo and Olivia Bryant designed the McSpedden and Scott logos.

Students submitted designs for each school, with the principals selecting their favorite, just as clients would in a professional setting.

“The students really enjoy these projects because they love seeing their designs utilized on a daily basis,” said CTE graphic design and illustration teacher Dianna Bacon. “It also is invaluable experience as they continue to build design portfolios showcasing examples of their work.”

The schools plan to use the images in branding materials and other communications with students, parents and the community at large.
