LHS Wrestling Program Video Chosen as Finalist in National Contest

Jun 04, 2014

In collaboration with Elite Level Sports Marketing (ELSM), the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) has announced 14 finalists in the Best of Brand “Added Value Video” category in the Open Division.

An end-of-year video compiled by the Liberty High School wrestling program is one of those finalists.

The Best of Brand Awards are an initiative designed to honor wrestling programs for their investment in marketing. By honoring high school, youth, and club programs, the Open Division is designed to inspire coaches to engage in branding initiatives at all levels to grow the sport.

There are three Open Division categories, but the “Added Value Video” category includes video submissions that were created by programs to build their brand with stakeholders.

The criteria for determining the “Added Value Video” award winner will feature two key elements: a panel of judges assessing annual performance (70%) and an online voting competition (30%). The online voting component will include 15% allocated to the actual vote totals and 15% to the creativity of campaign during the Battle Round voting.

Voting will be held June 16-19, 2014. Teams are paired based on their seeding and will battle head-to-head each day to advance in the competition.

Liberty High School, a number 12 seed, will first face Shawnee High School, a number 5 seed on Monday, June 16. Each person may vote once per hour from all devices.

The results of the Added Value Video award will be announced in August at the the 2014 NWCA Convention in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
