Hundreds Turn Out for ‘Trunk R Treat’ at Liberty High School

Nov 06, 2015

Liberty High School students and staff welcomed hundreds of “trunk or treaters” on October 30, despite having to reschedule the event and move it indoors due to rain.

The second annual Trunk R Treat was hosted by the Liberty Redhawk Band with a total of 72 campus clubs and organizations represented.

Students and staff decorated trunks in fun themes and dressed up in costumes, passing out candy to the “trunk or treaters.”

Liberty invited students from seven feeder elementary schools, as well as Vandeventer and Fowler middle schools.

“I was afraid turnout might not be very good because of the rain, but I didn’t need to worry,” said Assistant Band Director Martha Ball, who coordinated the event. “It was better attended than we could have dreamed! For two hours, it felt like the entire community was there together in the field house. Our high school students were amazing with the little kids.”

The event is free with candy donated by LHS students.
