Liberty High School Student Places at State FFA Contest

Dec 11, 2015

Hannah Alnemer of the Liberty High School FFA chapter traveled to Sam Houston State University in Huntsville earlier this month to compete in the Senior Creed Speaking Leadership Development Event at the Texas FFA State Leadership Development Contest.

Students from across the state competed in 13 different events which focus on creating situations for members to demonstrate their abilities in public speaking, decision making, communication and knowledge of agriculture and the FFA organization.

More than 750 students from across the state participated in the Senior Creed Speaking Leadership Development Event. Of those, Alnemer finished among the top participants, placing fifth.

She qualified for the state event after placing first in the event at the Area V FFA Leadership Development Contest in Krum in November.

Also placing at the area contest were fellow students from Liberty and Reedy High School. They include:

  • Alex Beale, Andrea Del Rio, Sarah Goralczyk and Ryan Wilder of Liberty, who earned 3rd place in the Agricultural Advocacy event at the area contest.
  • The Liberty public relations team of Jordan Miller, Hannah Alnemer, Kade Stephens and Kirk Niekamp, who finished 6th at the area contest.
  • The Reedy greenhand skills team, including Andrew Armendariz, Cole Coughenour, and Cade Wilkinson, who also placed 6th at the area contest.

The Liberty FFA Radio Broadcast team also competed at the area contest, placing just out of the top ten.
