Sep 07, 2016

Frisco’s Lone Star High School football program is teaming up with Big Game USA to honor the Frisco Police Department (FPD), law enforcement officers around the nation, and those who have fallen in the line of duty. The first annual “Thin Blue Line Football Classic” game will be held on Friday, Sept. 9 at 7:00 p.m. at the Ford Center, in Frisco, Texas. The Lone Star Rangers will host the event against the Lovejoy Leopards.

Lone Star Principal, Karen Kraft stated, “We at Lone Star are so proud to be part of this game and a part of this honor. I know that our students, staff and community mirror our show of gratitude. There is no better partner than the Frisco PD.”

Showing their support and respect for the “Boys in Blue” this week; Lone Star, Jesuit, and Mesquite Poteet high schools will each be using special edition Big Game USA 1906 Footballs. The game balls will be sporting a foil stamp of the Thin Blue Line American Flag, and blue laces honoring the officers that have fallen in the line of duty. Part of the proceeds will benefit the Texas Municipal Police Association (TMPA).

Prior to kickoff, the Lone Star Rangers will present the Frisco PD with one of the special game balls autographed by the team. The team will also be recognizing police officers across the country and paying tribute to those that have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving and protecting.

“We appreciate the support from our community, and working with them allows us to enjoy one of the safest cities in the U.S. The ongoing show of support from Frisco certainly means a lot to our Officers and our Department,” said Frisco Deputy Chief David Shilson.

“We are proud to be a part of this tribute to our friends in law enforcement. These men and women put their lives on the line every day for our families. This is just a small token of our appreciation for all of their efforts,” said Chris Calandro, Big Game USA owner and CEO.
