Fowler Middle School

Fowler Principal Named Region 10 Principal of the Year

Sep 03, 2015

Donnie Wiseman, principal of Fowler Middle School in Frisco ISD, has been selected to represent the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals as Region 10 Outstanding Principal of the Year.

TASSP recognizes outstanding principals and assistant principals from the twenty region Education Service Centers in the state. School administrators are chosen by their peers based on exemplary performance and outstanding leadership.

Wiseman was nominated for the honor by members of the Fowler staff, who shared the following comments with TASSP for consideration:

Mr. Wiseman is the epitome of what we believe a principal should be. He views this school as a family and treats us as such. Mr. Wiseman’s firm belief in community means that he is working with us instead of sitting down at his desk pushing papers. He's always in the trenches with us, hearing our concerns, helping us solve problems, and celebrating with us when we succeed. Just as we know every student by name and need, he knows every teacher by name and need. He is so available and so interested in not only what we do in the classroom, but also what we do with our families.

Wiseman has been principal of Fowler Middle School since it opened in 2007. He first joined Frisco ISD in 2001 and previously served as a math and science curriculum coordinator and assistant principal at Staley and Pioneer Heritage middle schools. Wiseman began his career in education as a middle school science teacher in 1997. His bachelor’s and master’s degrees are from Wayland Baptist University.

Wiseman will be honored along with other region winners during the Josten’s Night of the Stars Awards Dinner on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at the Hilton Austin Downtown Hotel. Each will be presented with an award and recognized in a commemorative booklet entitled Texas Principals, Texas Heroes. The TASSP Summer Workshop will be held June 15-17, 2016, at the Austin Convention Center.

As a Region 10 winner, Wiseman is eligible to compete for the state title of Texas Principal of the Year.
