2015-2016 Welcome Letter

Jul 31, 2015

Hello Husky Families!

Even after two decades in education the start of school is always electric for me. There is something so special about beginning a new, year long journey. It never gets old! I look forward to sharing that journey with your family.

Though magical, the start of the year can be a whirlwind. Please allow me to share some vital information that I hope will prove useful. In addition to this our website contains other key dates and resources,

PE Uniforms:

If your family has ordered a uniform it will be available for pick-up at Husky Camp.  If not, you may also purchase these on your own. Uniforms must be solid black shorts and solid grey t-shirt. (No logos) Please be aware that shorts must be fingertip length.

Please be sure to stop by and see the PTA booths at upcoming events.  Husky Spirit Wear will be available for purchase at the PTA booth. Additionally, the PTA will have information on membership, events, and service opportunities.

Our student body will likely be well over 800 by the first day of school. In order to ensure a safe and orderly carpool for our growing population we solicited the input of FISD Security and our Campus Officer on our traffic flow. Our drop-off procedures will remain unchanged. However, we are implementing some changes to our pick-up procedures. The central crux of the changes centers on double pick-up lanes.  Parents will be able to pick-up their student(s) from the two inside lanes not just the curbside lane. Please take the time to view the attached carpool map. Please allow me to voice three reminders. First, spending a few extra minutes in carpool is an extremely small price to pay in order to safe guard our students. Please exercise patience, safe driving habits, and courtesy. Second, please be respectful of our neighboring businesses by not picking-up or dropping-off your students on their property. Third, traffic laws are enforceable on campus. We have 10 mph speed limit in the parking lot.

Additional Busing:

I am also pleased to announce that bus service has been expanded to and from Hunt.  Students that live West of the Tollway are now bus eligible.

Thank you for your patience as you read this!  It is an honor and a blessing to serve as your principal. Please rest assured that we want to make the registration and back to school process as smooth as possible for your family.  Feel free to contact your front office staff with any questions.

I look forward to an amazing year!
