Maus Wind Ensemble Named National Mark of Excellence Winner

Sep 23, 2014

Maus Wind EnsembleThe Foundation for Music Education has honored four Frisco ISD schools through a program designed to recognize bands, choirs and orchestras for outstanding musical achievement.

Each year, schools from across the country are invited to submit recordings of their music for review by a distinguished panel of judges as part of the Mark of Excellence contest. Schools are categorized into separate classes based on their student enrollment.

An adjudication panel consisting of top university band directors listens to each of the submissions and then forwards the top 50 percent to a second panel of university band directors.

The top quarter of all entries earn the distinction of National Winner, while those entries in the second quarter are designated as a Commended Winner.
