Types of Colleges

Open Admissions

The acceptance rate is above 90%. Two year colleges do not require the SAT/ACT, but these scores assist with placement.

Liberal Admissions

Includes many state universities and small, private colleges that accept the student who is below a 3.0 GPA.

Traditional Admissions

A good fit for the well rounded student or a student with strong involvement and strong academics.

Select Admissions

Very competitive with typically a lower acceptance rate than traditional admissions. Strong scores needed.

Highly Select Admissions

Applicants typically are in the top 10% of their class and are highly motivated.

Most Selective Admissions

Applicants are in the top 2-3% of their class, great leadership, have excellent essays and strong test scores.

One club or organization, plus Christian service. A plus to have one in-depth activity

Heavily involved in two activities, such as sports, clubs, band, community service, work, etc.

Leadership role in community service, and organization, a special talent, honors, achievement, or sport recognition.
