Student Artwork Selected for State Exhibit

Mar 04, 2015

Five Frisco ISD students will have artwork displayed in Austin as part of a state-wide celebration of Youth Art Month (YAM).

Youth Art Month is an annual observance held each March to emphasize the value of art education for all children and to encourage support for quality school art programs.

Each year, school districts from across the state submit artwork made by Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade student artists to be selected for exhibition at the State Capitol.

This year’s exhibit, organized by the Texas Art Education Association, will open March 8 at the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum, where it will be displayed until April 4. The artwork will then move to the lower rotunda of the State Capitol building April 5-11.

A celebration and awards reception will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 22 at the Bullock, 1800 N Congress Avenue in Austin, to recognize the winning students and their teachers.
