Riddle and Roach Students Win Prizes in Art Contest

Twenty-two art students from Frisco ISD participated in the 2015 More Than Plane Color Art Contest, sponsored by the American Airlines CR Smith Museum and PrismaColor.

Over 350 students throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area submitted artwork to the contest.

The artists had their choice of illustrating one of the following themes: “The History of Aviation,” “Places That We Travel,” “Famous Aviators and Artists” or “Aviation Equipment and Futuristic Designs” using their choice of 2-D media.

Frisco ISD had three winners and thirteen art works out of 100 chosen for display.

They were awarded with prizes at a reception on November 1 at the American Airlines CR Smith Museum.

  • 1st Place Category 1: Anvita Agarwal, 3rd grade, Riddle Elementary, Teacher: Heema Mistry; Both student and teacher won a pair of American Airlines tickets and a Prismacolor materials gift basket valued at $300.
  • 2nd Place Category 2: Rishita Sinhal, 5th grade, Riddle Elementary, Teacher: Heema Mistry; Both student and teacher won a Prismacolor materials gift basket valued at $300.
  • 2nd Place Category 3: Ryan Li, 8th grade, Roach Middle School, Teacher: Kristen Summers; Both student and teacher won a Prismacolor materials gift basket valued at $150.

Artwork will be on display now through January 16 at the American Airlines CR Smith Museum in Fort Worth.
