Staley Middle School Hosts Annual Senior Citizen Luncheon

Dec 03, 2015

The annual Frisco ISD Senior Citizen Luncheon December 2 at Staley Middle School had one of the biggest crowds in its 30-plus years.

Former Superintendent Dr. Justin Wakeland was on hand, as were several other campus namesakes and a few FISD faces who claim they haven’t missed a luncheon yet. Wakeland founded the event many years ago along with his secretary Reba Carroll.

The entree was turkey and dressing from the Staley cafeteria and students served water and tea, carried trays and bused tables. The Staley band, orchestra, guitar ensemble and choir performed seasonal music.

The guests also received handmade cards from students in the Teen Leadership class. The cards described how individual students feel about the importance of grandparents.

The annual event honors senior citizens for their role in building a tradition of excellence at Frisco ISD.
