Vandeventer Middle School

VMS is CLOSED to New Students Enrolling for the 2016-2017 School Year

Mar 21, 2016

Vandeventer Middle School, serving students in grades 6-8, is closed to new students enrolling for the 2015-16 and 2016-17 school years. The school exceeded capacity in the 2015-16 school year, with more than 1,100 students enrolled. New middle school students who live in the Vandeventer zone will attend Wester Middle School instead with transportation provided from Vandeventer to Wester.

In addition, this will impact new fifth grade students who enroll after Friday, March 18, 2016, and live in the Vandeventer zone (this includes all of Anderson Elementary, Richwoods attending Curtsinger, all of Isbell, all of McSpedden, and the following neighborhoods of Taylor – Castlebrook at Ridgeview, Estancia at Ridgeview Ranch, Fairway Villas at Ridgeview and Ranch at Ridgeview). If a student is enrolled and currently attending fifth grade at one of these schools, they will attend Vandeventer. If they enroll and begin attendance after March 18, they will attend Wester Middle School. Frisco ISD had originally hoped that any student who lived in the zone and was already attending school in fifth grade would be able to move into their home campus of Vandeventer, but current fifth grade enrollments have grown more rapidly than projected, and the school will not accommodate any additional students for the 2016-17 school year.

Lawler Middle School will open in August 2017 to relieve Vandeventer.
