Wester 2014 Mock Gubernatorial Election Results

Nov 04, 2014

Last week, the History Department staged a Mock Gubernatorial Election allowing the students a glimpse into Election Day. Ms. Davis, inspired by Project V.O.T.E, "(Voters of Tomorrow through Education), an innovative curriculum designed to help students become knowledgeable, responsible voters at an early age," set up voting booths in each grade-level hallway, and students voted during their history classes. "This non-partisan education program promotes voter participation by introducing students to the mechanics of the electoral and legislative processes through hands-on experience." The results of the students' voting are displayed in this graph. Since many asked their parents about the candidates beforehand, it will be interesting to see how our results compare with the real state-wide results!
