Youth Art Month

Jan 26, 2015

Youth Art Month is a month of promoting art and art education in the United States.  It is observed in March, with thousands of American Schools participating, often with the involvement of local art museums and civic organizations.

Each year, districts across the state may submit artwork made by Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade student artists to be selected for exhibition in the YAM Capitol exhibit held at the State Capitol.  The 2015 exhibit will open on March 8th at the Bob Bullock Texas History Museum, where it will be displayed until March 22nd

One of our very talented students, Cindy Bui, was chosen to be a part of YAM and represent Frisco Independent School District with seven other talented artists from the district.  Most of the Art teachers in Frisco submitted two pieces of art work to the Administration Building.  Several representatives then chose eight to have this chance to represent our district.  We are very proud of Cindy here at Wester!
