Graphic Design Students Win $1,750 for CTE Center

Student poster designs from the Frisco ISD Career and Technical Education Center were selected as winners in a statewide graphic design contest sponsored by State Farm and Teens in the Drivers Seat.

As a result, State Farm presented the graphic design program at the CTE Center with a check for $1,750.

The posters are used to promote safe teen driving.

CTE students have been winners in the contest for the past two years, but this year FISD students swept the entire contest.

Winners Kendall Metcalf and Lindsey Morrison are first-year design students and Abigail Wroten is an advanced design student, according to instructor Dianna Bacon.

The prizes offered on behalf of the winners are as follows:

  • 1st place ($1,000): Frisco ISD Career & Technical Education Center, Kendall Metcalf (The 5 Dangers)
  • 2nd place ($500): Frisco ISD Career & Technical Education Center, Lindsey Morrison (Be Safe)
  • 3rd place ($250): Frisco ISD Career & Technical Education Center, Abigail Wroten (Driving is Not a Game)

In addition, students Aaron Lindig, Alicia Parham and Emily Sontemeier received honorable mention in the contest.
