Frisco ISD-TV Garners National Honors for School News and Sports Feature Reporting

The Student Television Network (STN) has announced winners of its 2015 Spring Nationals competition.

Frisco ISD-TV Producer/Editor Bailey Stone received 2nd place in the SchoolNewsStory category for “The Scope of Creativity,” which focuses on CTE Center Animation students who got their hands on a unique project.  Stone also received 2nd place in the Sports Feature Story category for “A Pretty Pace,” a report that catches up with Borchardt Elementary School’s Girls on the Run team.  Stone is a junior at Centennial High School.

Chalen BroomFrisco ISD-TV Producer/Editor Chalen Broom received 3rd place in the Sports Feature Story category for “Lessons Beyond the Line”, which shares how students are physically lining up to learn with music and movement.  Broom is a senior at Wakeland High School who plans to study Radio-TV-Film and Marketing at San Jose State University in the Fall.

Frisco ISD-TV Executive Producer Eva Coleman is excited about these wins and her crewmembers’ accomplishments.

“The STN contests are highly competitive,” Coleman said.  “I’m honored that their talent shined through for national recognition.”

STN affiliates from all over the country compete for such honors.

Since Frisco ISD-TV started in 2008, under the direction of Executive Producer Eva Coleman, they have been members of STN.  Coleman was named the first-ever STN Teacher of the Year in 2013.
