Frisco ISD-TV Receives Awards at Fall High School Journalism Convention

The Journalism Education Association (JEA) / National Scholastic Press Association (NSPA) Fall National High School Journalism convention was held November 12-15 in Orlando, Florida.

Recently named finalists in the Broadcast Pacemaker competition, Frisco ISD-TV was formally honored for this accomplishment along with honors in other broadcast categories as well.

“Although we weren’t named Broadcast Pacemaker winners this year, we’re humbled to be part of such an elite group of broadcast programs throughout the country,” Frisco ISD-TV Executive Producer Eva Coleman said. “Being a finalist isn’t an easy feat, and I’m forever proud of the work my crew produces to share the stories of our awesome school district.”

Broadcast Story of the Year placements were announced during this convention as well. 

Frisco ISD-TV earned third place for NSPA Broadcast Sports Story of the Year for “A Pretty Pace” produced by Bailey Stone, an Honorable Mention for NSPA Broadcast News Story of the Year for “Bear Necessities” also by Bailey Stone and an Honorable Mention for NSPA Broadcast Feature Story of the Year for “Return of a Founding Father” by Maria Lempke who is currently studying Radio, TV & Film at the University of North Texas.
