Securities & Investment helps secures 1st place for Student

Alyssa Goldberg's essay won 1st place in the high school division of the statewide 2016 Spring InvestWrite competition. Students entered the contest as part of the CTE Center's Securities & Investment course taught by Mrs. Schaumburg.  Essays are judged by four national judges which are members of the Securities Industry that support the SIFMA Foundation. 


Each essay is scored based on the following three criteria which are equally weighted: 

  • Understanding the Subject Matter
  • Rationale
  • Writing Style

Submissions were accepted from February 4-April 14.

Alyssa will be awarded a $50 cash prize from the Texas Council on Economic Education and a special certificate to recognize this accomplishment.
