Student Job Fair Gains Summer Employment

Jun 02, 2016

Over 200 students attended the first annual Student Job Fair hosted by the Frisco ISD Career & Technical Education Center on May 19, 2016.

Several employers commented to Mrs. Kelly Hemenway, the CTEC Career Counselor, they saw better turnout and quality of applicants than the college job fair they attended a month prior. McDonald's said they interviewed and hired fourteen students.

The job fair was open to FISD students age 16-18.  "It was a great learning experience for students, who were instructed to come prepared with a resume and dressed in business attire. We were able to make many partnership connections. Employers benefited by leaving with interviews set up, contacts for potential new hires, or with new employees who were hired on the spot." stated Mrs. Hemenway.
