Debra Purefoy taught for over three decades and 22 of those were in Frisco ISD. In the classroom, she was known for her passion for teaching and reaching out to her students. She knew each student was in her classroom for a reason and made herself available to make a difference in their lives. While the content of her Spanish lessons was important, she knew the character lessons by quiet example were just as meaningful. In retirement, she has been active in the Frisco Area Retired School Personnel.
She and her husband George Purefoy make a formidable “dream team,” in benefitting the students of FISD. As the city manager from 1987 to 2022, his efforts on behalf of Frisco ISD have been unmatched. He consistently insisted on collaboration and joint ventures that have saved taxpayer dollars and effectively created unique partnerships to stimulate the economy and provide great opportunities for the young people of FISD.
