Why get an FISD Device?

  • Students and teachers will have similar devices and can better ensure that instructional activities will work appropriately
  • A Chromebook maintenance fee of $20 will provide support for district device.
  • Direct, on-site support
  • Device is managed and will include extensions and settings pre-installed
  • Managed devices can be disabled if misplaced or stolen
  • Damage not covered by the warranty or insurance will be charged and repaired at the Frisco ISD rate.


Troubleshooting & Repair Information

If your FISD Chromebook is having trouble:

  • Shut down/power off the Chromebook fully.
    • Option 1: Click the time/date in the bottom right corner and select the power off icon along the top row. 
    • Option 2: Hold the power button until all lights turn completely off. This can take 30+ seconds.
  • Wait 10 seconds after all lights turn off.
  • Turn it back on.

If the Chromebook still has trouble and is in need of repair, submit a Device Repair ticket located in the Student Portal.

Power cord missing or damaged?  

You can buy your own replacement. It must be a 65 watt USB-C cord here. If you would prefer to purchase from Frisco ISD, please stop by the Chromebook office in C131.
