Student Arrival: Students should arrive between 7:45 AM – 8:15 AM. All non-busing
students will enter the cafeteria doors located on the north side of the building. Due to
the bus drop off, cars are not allowed to drop off students in the front of the
building between 7:45 AM – 8:25 AM. All students arriving by car should enter at the
carpool entrance and be dropped off on the north side of the building outside the
cafeteria. Please follow the carpool procedures. Students who ride their bikes to school will park and lock their bikes on the North, West or South side of the building.

Student Dismissal: Students should leave campus as soon as school is dismissed or
upon conclusion of the school activity/tutoring they are attending. Students will not be
allowed to loiter after school hours or be allowed to re-enter the building once they
have exited. Adult supervision is not provided after school hours. Please make
arrangements for your student to walk home or be picked up promptly at the end of the
school day.

There are three designated lunch times for students. Student lunch schedules are based on teacher schedules and may vary on regular and block days. Students will be informed of their lunch schedule on the first day of school or on their first day enrolled as it will not appear on their course schedule.

  • A Lunch - 11:25 a.m. - 11:55 a.m.
  • B lunch - 12:11 p.m. - 12:41 p.m.
  • C lunch - 12:57 p.m. - 1:27 p.m.

Parents/guardians will be allowed to eat lunch with their student(s) after Labor Day; however, we are asking parents to notify the administration as least 24 hours in advance by completing this form. There will be a 2 visitor/family maximum per lunch per day on a first come first serve basis. Campus office staff will provide an email confirmation to the requestor if the lunch reservation is approved. The requestor MUST receive this email confirmation to redeem the reservation on the date/time requested.

Parents/guardians are NOT allowed to bring food and/or eat lunch with students other than their own student. There are tables designated for parents eating lunch with their student(s). Parents/guardians MUST check-in at the front office to receive a visitor badge. Additionally, parents/guardians/visitors must be listed in eSchool in order for the lunch reservation to be accepted and confirmed. Unauthorized visitors will not be granted access to the building.

All visitors must be prepared to show their photo identification when checking in at the front office and in order to receive a visitor badge.

Microwaves will be available in the cafeteria for student use.

Students may receive lunch drop-offs via the grade level coolers outside the cafeteria entrance (parents/guardians are not required to come into the building). No food delivery services are permitted (UberEats, DoorDash, etc.).

Signing Students Out During the Day

To help reduce disruption to instruction, and most importantly, for the safety of our students, we are unable to let a student leave their classroom until a parent arrives and is confirmed in the front office. It is only after parents (or approved adults) have checked in with the receptionist that students will be called to leave their class. Please allow extra time for this to occur. Thank you for your understanding.

Missed Assignments Due to Absence

It  is the responsibility of the student and/or parent to collect missed assignments due to absence. It is recommended that  before 10:00 A.M. on the second day of absence, parents request assignments for the absentee by emailing each teacher.

Most assignments are accessed through Canvas.

Each student is responsible for completing all make-up work. Students are allowed one day to make up assignments for each day absent. If a student misses an assessment of learning, it is the responsibility of the student to schedule a time with the teacher to make up the assessment. If the student was aware of an assignment deadline before the absence occurred, the assignment (progress check for learning or assessment of learning) is due upon the student's return to school. Special long-term student projects may be required to be turned in on the due date regardless of student attendance at school.
Interim Progress Reports and Report Cards are available on HAC (Home Access Center) for you to view after each grade reporting time period. If, for any reason, you would prefer to be provided with a paper copy of the IPR and RC, please email Cynthia Hildinger, the Vandeventer Data Clerk, at hildingerc@friscoisd.org.
Frisco ISD uses PowerSchool Registration to update information on students returning to our schools each year. More information can be found here.
When there is a threat of severe weather, Frisco ISD officials monitor conditions and work with the City of Frisco at the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to determine when emergency procedures need to be implemented. The EOC monitors the entire area including the other municipalities we serve – McKinney, Plano and Little Elm. When dangerous conditions exist and plans are implemented, FISD will use every means available to communicate this to families. We believe families know that schools are a safe place and that we will do whatever we can to keep students protected and make the best decisions for their well-being.
