Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo

Heifers: Frisco ISD’s Heifer Cattle Show Team had an incredible experience at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo, the oldest continuously running livestock show in Texas. Since 1896, this legendary event has showcased the best in agriculture, and FISD students were proud to be part of the tradition.

Junior FFA members from Panther Creek and Wakeland and FFA students from Frisco Heritage competed with Simbrah, Angus, Shorthorn and Chianina cattle, demonstrating outstanding showmanship, teamwork and dedication. From the barn to the show ring, they represented FISD with pride and excellence.

Calf Scramble: Congratulations to Nolan Lagrone of the Frisco Reedy FFA Chapter for catching at the 2025 Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo Calf Scramble.

The Calf Scramble provides 4-H and FFA youth with hands-on experience in the livestock industry. During 23 rodeo performances, 230 participants caught calves and received $500 certificates to purchase and raise a heifer for exhibition the following year. Beyond livestock experience, the program also offers scholarship opportunities for those who successfully complete it by submitting monthly reports, demonstrating dedication to their project and writing a final essay about their experience.

Rabbits: FISD’s talented FFA members also participated in the Youth Breeding Rabbit Show. Students from Centennial, Wakeland, Lone Star and Memorial competed in the three-day event, exhibiting breeds like Mini Rex, Flemish Giants, Lionheads, and Mini Lops. Their dedication, sportsmanship and hard work truly stood out in the ring!

Texas FFA Week Bulletin Board Chapter Grant Challenge

The Lebanon Trail FFA Chapter took second place in the Texas FFA Bulletin Board Chapter Grant Challenge! Chapters were asked to create a dynamic, informative and creative bulletin board that highlights FFA and agriculture, and submit those photos for consideration. Congratulations to the Lebanon Trail FFA and adviser Macey Cheatham!

AET Scoreboard

Wakeland FFA was ranked No. 1 and Lebanon Trail, No. 53 on the Texas Agricultural Experience Tracker! This ranking highlights the hard work, dedication and record-keeping of our incredible FFA members and agriculture science students.

With degree check season in full swing, FISD agriculture students are staying proactive, logging hours and tracking skills to earn their next FFA degree. Congratulations!
