In addition to Centennial's team performance, four FISD golfers finished in the top 10 individually.
risco ISD golf programs had a strong showing this week at the UIL Girls Golf Championships, with Centennial finishing as the 5A state runner-up and four golfers finishing in the top 10 individually.
Centennial was the 5A runner-up for the second straight year, again behind only state champion San Antonio Alamo Heights. The Titans’ team of Lisa Zhang, Gracie Kent, Kennedy Brandstetter, Aditi Vinodkumar and Isabella Anzualda finished with a stroke score of 609, not far back of Alamo Heights (589).
Like Centennial, Independence’s Megan Lee finished as 5A state runner-up, but the sophomore was even closer to a state title. Lee finished with a two-round total of 4-under 140, tying her for the top spot at Legacy Hills Golf Club in Georgetown. She finished with the silver medal after a two-hole playoff for the top spot.
Frisco’s Addison Reilly finished sixth in the 5A individual standings with a total of 146, and Zhang and Independence’s Anika Singh tied for 10th at 148.
The UIL Boys Golf Championship will be Monday and Tuesday (May 5-6).
Congratulations to all the FISD golfers at state!
Full girls team and individual results.
