Frisco ISD will raise prices slightly to keep pace with rising food and labor costs, and introduce several fun new options in cafeterias.
By Rachel McReynolds
When Frisco ISD students return to campuses Aug. 13, they will see a few changes in the cafeteria — a slight increase in meal costs and some new dining options.

As part of an effort to keep pace with rising food and labor costs, the District has updated meal prices for the 2025-26 school year. Elementary lunch will now cost $3, up from $2.75 last year. Intermediate, middle and high school lunch will cost $4, up from $3.75. Breakfast prices at all grade levels have also risen to $2.50, up from $2 from the previous year.
Free and reduced meal program: Families who qualify for the federal free and reduced-price meal program must reapply every year after July 1.
The District encourages all families who may be eligible to complete an application online through SchoolCafé or submit a paper form.
SchoolCafé: Manage student meal accounts, view daily menus and set up low balance alerts with SchoolCafé.
New options
The Child Nutrition Program is excited to announce the launch of special menu items on a rotating basis this year. These items will be available on two consecutive days each month, running from September through April.
These new options are designed to bring more variety and excitement to school menus while encouraging greater meal participation among students. These items will be available at all grade levels, K-12.
In addition to offering fresh and fun new options, the program provides a valuable opportunity to gather student feedback on these menu items. Responses will help the Child Nutrition Program determine which dishes could become permanent additions in the future.
Limited-time options for 2025-26:
September: Dumplings with brown rice and teriyaki sauce
October: Bean and cheese tamales
November: Fall feast - turkey, mashed potatoes with poultry gravy, green beans, craisins, peach cobbler cup, corn muffin, mini pumpkin pie
December: Inside-out turkey, ham and cheese sandwich with tomato soup
