staley middle school

At the recommendation of District leadership, the Frisco ISD Board of Trustees has voted to retire Staley Middle School at the end of the current school year in response to declining enrollment District-wide and failing infrastructure at the campus.

As a result, all students currently zoned for Staley will be rezoned to Griffin, Trent and Hunt middle schools beginning in August 2026. High school attendance zones are not impacted.

Frisco ISD is facing declining enrollment after many years of record growth. Current enrollment stands at 62,755, a decrease of about 2,800 students since the end of last school year, in May 2025. This decline will be the subject of ongoing discussions among District leadership in the next few years.

The District has committed to supporting families and staff affected by this decision, and will provide resources and guidance to ensure a smooth transition.

As FISD looks to the future, plans to honor and celebrate Staley’s legacy in 2026 will be communicated as details are finalized.

Staley families and staff and Frisco ISD community members can learn more and receive updates on the Staley Updates webpage. There, they can also find information about the building’s history, bond funding, maintenance and future plans.
