Frisco ISD’s NJROTC program, housed at Lebanon Trail High School, has been designated a Distinguished Unit with Academic Honors for the 2025-26 school year.

This highly regarded distinction is made in recognition of the exceptional achievement of the District’s Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps unit during the 2024-25 school year, the first year the program was designated an NJROTC.

This award is given annually to schools whose NJROTC program ranks in the top 30% of the programs in each NJROTC area. This selection is based upon the excellence attained in administration, academic performance, military proficiency and host school support.

Lebanon Trail's receipt of this special award is directly attributable to the superb support that administrators and staff members have given the NJROTC program.

“This recognition is a tremendous honor for Lebanon Trail and Frisco ISD,” said Associate Deputy Superintendent Dr. Wes Cunningham. "It is a testament to the collaborative spirit that defines our schools and the commitment to excellence that makes the FISD student opportunity model so important to our community and allow programs like NJROTC to thrive.”

Frisco ISD was approved in late 2020 for a Navy National Defense Cadet Corps, which last fall earned designation as an NJROTC. Since its inception, the program has collected a number of accolades.

Congratulations to Lebanon Trail and the dedicated NJROTC instructors and students!
