A midyear update on the District Improvement Plan was presented to the Board in January.
Frisco ISD is making progress on the strategic goals and priorities laid out this fall in its 2023-24 District Improvement Plan.
At its January meeting, the Board of Trustees heard a midyear update with progress on four District-wide goals that align with one of the district’s six Future-Ready focus areas and the Board’s 2023-24 priorities.
The goals for 2023-24 are:
Learning organization: Improving communication practices to ensure consistency and clarity in information shared with families.
Differentiated instruction and assessment: Supporting teachers in providing challenging, relevant and student-centered learning experiences.
Positive culture: Equipping staff to equitably apply positive behavior interventions and the student code of conduct to reduce negative student behaviors, and
Positive culture: Fostering employee engagement and retention with enhanced communication channels and growth opportunities.
Last spring, the District completed a comprehensive needs assessment to identify opportunities for improvement aligned with the Future-Ready Framework. Campus leaders as well as stakeholders serving on the District Advisory Council participated in the needs assessment process, and District staff developed the District Improvement Plan in response to stakeholders’ priorities. The Board adopted the plan, as well as individual Campus Improvement Plans, in September.
Campuses and District departments are all aligned in working toward the goals outlined in the District Improvement Plan. The DAC has been sharing feedback with FISD on its work throughout the first semester, and the group’s feedback was included in the midyear update.
What’s next: Achievement of the District’s goals will be measured by a local accountability system and detailed in the 2024 District Accountability Report this fall.
