With several new transfer options open now for the 2025-26 school year, more families have the opportunity to enjoy a top-rated education in Frisco ISD.
Frisco ISD is introducing new out-of-district transfer options and expanding an in-District option, making it easier for families to join and stay in the District.
Families enrolled in Frisco ISD but who later move out of District, and those with a grandparent in FISD boundaries, will now have an opportunity to remain or enroll in the District. Students will also be able to stay at their campus even if they move to another address within Frisco ISD.
Frisco ISD is also excited to announce a new virtual learning opportunity launching in the 2026-27 school year. Whether students are seeking a full-time online experience, a flexible hybrid option or individual virtual courses to complement another learning environment — including charter, private or homeschool — the virtual program is designed to meet a variety of needs while maintaining the high standards of Frisco ISD. More details will be shared soon.
These new transfer options reflect Frisco ISD’s commitment to keeping students connected, supported and successful, while opening the doors of opportunity to more families who value a top-rated public education.
Stay-Put Transfer
A Frisco ISD student who has completed at least one school year but moves within the District mid-school year or between school years, changing their zoned campus, can request to stay at their current campus.
If a Stay-Put Transfer is granted, the student will be permitted to continue in attendance at their previously zoned campus for the duration of the grade levels available at that campus. Stay-Put Transfers are not available for changes in campus assignment based on rezoning.
Stay-Put Transfer window for the start of 2025-26 school year: June 10-July 30, 2025.

Legacy Transfer
Students who have been attending Frisco ISD schools for a minimum of one school year based on a previous address can now remain in Frisco ISD, even if their family moves outside the District. This helps maintain consistency, friendships and academic progress without disruption.
Legacy Transfer window for the start of 2025-26 school year: June 10-July 30, 2025.
