Dr. Mike Waldrip Named Superintendent of the Year by Region 10

Dr. Waldrip, Frisco ISD superintendent since 2017, was recognized for his outstanding leadership and commitment to educational excellence.

risco ISD is proud to celebrate Dr. Mike Waldrip being named Region 10’s 2025 Superintendent of the Year.

Dr. Waldrip, who has been Frisco ISD superintendent for eight years, was surprised with the award at the Board of Trustees’ regular June meeting. Nominated by the Board, Waldrip will now be considered for the statewide Texas Association of School Boards Superintendent of the Year award.

“This is such an honor, but it really belongs to the whole Frisco ISD community,” Dr. Waldrip said. “I’m proud to work with people who care so deeply about students and their academic and personal success.”

Dr. Waldrip was recognized for his outstanding leadership and commitment to educational excellence in one of Texas' largest school districts.

“Dr. Waldrip embodies dedication, vision and unwavering commitment to our schools and FISD community,” outgoing Board President Dynette Davis said. “His exemplary leadership inspires us all to strive for excellence, foster innovation and nurture the potential of every student.”

Since becoming superintendent in 2017, Dr. Waldrip has guided Frisco ISD through a period of remarkable growth and change. He began his career in education as a coach and teacher, then school and district administrator, before becoming FISD superintendent.
