Join us in celebrating Ana Urbina from Panther Creek High School and Lisa Cruz from Sem Elementary School for earning the January Standing Ovation Awards! Each month, Frisco ISD proudly highlights exceptional non-teaching staff members who exemplify the District’s core values and make a meaningful difference.

Superintendent Dr. Mike Waldrip visited Ana and Lisa to thank them for their dedication and hard work. Their achievements will also be recognized during a special celebration in the spring.

Ana Urbina: Cafe Supervisor, Panther Creek High School

Ana is a dedicated, experienced leader who takes great pride in providing nutritious, high-quality meals to students and staff at Panther Creek High School. Principal Ryan Solano praised Ana’s commitment, noting that her leadership has contributed to an outstanding year for lunch services. Her efforts ensure that meal service runs smoothly and efficiently, a testament to the exceptional team she leads.

Beyond her daily responsibilities, Ana has played a key role in strengthening the Child Nutrition Program. She has assisted with interviews during recruiting and orientation events, while also taking the lead in onboarding new hires — particularly those needing language support. Through campus training sessions, Ana has equipped her new staff with the knowledge and confidence to succeed in their roles. Ana’s dedication has made the transition seamless for new team members, setting them up for success from day one.

Panther Creek High School is immensely proud of Ana and deeply grateful for her invaluable service to the community.

Lisa Cruz: Structured Learning Class Paraprofessional, Sem Elementary School

For the last four years, Lisa has been a dedicated structured learning classroom paraprofessional. Her unwavering commitment to supporting students, particularly those in SLC, has made a profound impact on their academic and personal growth. Lisa’s calm demeanor and compassionate approach create a nurturing environment where students feel valued and empowered.

Lisa goes beyond simply meeting the needs of her own students — she takes the initiative to learn about those in the other SLCs, ensuring she can step in seamlessly when needed. She embraces challenges with determination, working alongside teachers and students to find solutions that benefit everyone. Her dedication extends beyond the classroom, as she actively researches curriculum and District resources to enhance learning opportunities.

Lisa’s hard work and positive influence have made a significant difference in the lives of many, and she is an integral part of Sem Elementary School.
