Schools will receive fresh paint and carpet, technology, plumbing updates or other renovations as part of allocated and reallocated bond funds.
lass may be out for summer, but work still continues at several Frisco ISD campuses receiving updates.
At dozens of schools, crews will be out this summer to replace carpet and paint, or update lighting, security cameras, boilers or other technology.
Some campuses will be closed for renovations, and their phones will be transferred to their temporary campus.
Middle school - Cobb
Elementary schools and special program centers - Sonntag, Purefoy, Early Childhood School
As Frisco ISD campuses age and enrollment has flattened, the District’s priority has shifted from building new facilities to maintaining existing ones. By 2026, 22 elementary schools, six middle schools and four high schools will be at least 20 years old. By 2030, another 18 campuses will turn 20.
After a November bond package that included facility maintenance was rejected by voters, staff presented a revised capital plan to the Board of Trustees in January to fund the most critical projects. As part of that revised plan, money already allocated and reallocated 2018 bond funds will pay for facility work this summer.
Get details about approved costs, costs to date, and details of upgrades on the 2018 Bond Program page.
Not all 2018 bond funds have been spent or reallocated, including those for Staley Middle School as the Board considers the campus’s future. Follow the decision-making process.
The revised capital plan will allow Frisco ISD to maintain critical infrastructure and instructional programs through the end of 2026.
