zCongratulations to Jennifer Helm from athletics and Jennifer Howard from Griffin Middle School, the recipients of August’s Standing Ovation Awards! Each month, Frisco ISD honors non-teaching staff who are nominated by their peers for living out the District’s core values.
Superintendent Dr. Mike Waldrip visited both honorees to thank them for their dedication and impact. They will also be recognized at a special district-wide event this spring.
Frisco ISD is proud to celebrate the servant leadership and commitment that both Jennifer Helm and Jennifer Howard bring to our students, staff and community each day.
Jennifer Helm - Athletics Clerk, Athletics Department
Jennifer Helm is a clerk in the athletics department, and she has been with Frisco ISD for 28 years. Her colleagues describe her as someone who is always willing to step in and help others with humility, heart and humor.
Recently, Jennifer’s dedication was on full display at the first annual Coaches Family Night. Jennifer quickly realized that there wasn’t anyone to monitor the bounce house water slide. Without hesitating, Jennifer stepped in to supervise and spent the entire night in the splash zone. Without a thought for her own discomfort, Jennifer created a safe environment that allowed children to enjoy themselves while parents connected and relaxed.
That’s just a recent example of the ways Jennifer goes above and beyond, but she spends her time mentoring staff, organizing events and quietly stepping in where needed. No matter the task, she does it with grace, joy and an unwavering commitment to the FISD community.
Jennifer Howard - AP Secretary, Griffin Middle School
Jennifer Howard is the AP secretary at Griffin Middle School, and she is an integral part of the fabric of the school. From the moment the doors open in the morning until afternoon, Jennifer goes above and beyond for staff and students.
She takes on countless responsibilities each day, from tracking absences and processing work orders to welcoming substitute teachers and visitors. No matter the task, Jennifer approaches it with kindness, patience and a desire to make others feel supported. Her colleagues say Jennifer is the kind of person you can always count on as she is always ready to listen, share a smile, leave a positive note or lend a hand.
Jennifer is the first to step in when there is a gap and wears many hats with grace. Her dedication reflects not only her strong work ethic but also her deep care for the Griffin Middle School community.
