State accountability rating

The District was again recognized as the largest district in the state with the top rating.

Frisco ISD students receive a top-tier education through a curriculum designed in-house to prepare students for the future. This intentional approach has made FISD a state leader in academic outcomes, earning the district an A rating in the 2024-25 TEA accountability ratings.

Frisco ISD is the largest district in Texas to earn an A in the 2024-25 TEA accountability rankings, following the same outstanding success in 2022-23 and 2023-24.

Campus ratings are now available on each school’s Campus Overview page.

Among the celebrations in the 2024-25 results, the number of Frisco ISD’s A-rated campuses increased from the previous year.

"Frisco ISD has done well in the state’s accountability system for many years, and we’re proud to see that success continue," said Superintendent Dr. Mike Waldrip. "But we know there’s more to the story. Our local accountability system helps us look at the bigger picture of student success — the things a single state rating can’t show."

Delayed by litigation for several years, A-F ratings for the 2022-23 school year were released in spring 2025. This latest release catches the state accountability system up to the current school year.

Basis for A-F ratings

The A-F accountability system gives school districts and campuses four grades — Overall, Student Achievement, School Progress and Closing the Gaps.

Student Achievement evaluates performance across all subjects for all students, on both general and alternate assessments; college, career and military readiness indicators; and graduation rates.

  • School Progress measures district and campus outcomes in two areas:

    • The number of students that grew at least one year academically (or are on track) as measured by STAAR results

    • The achievement of all students relative to districts or campuses with similar economically disadvantaged percentages.

  • Closing the Gaps uses disaggregated data to demonstrate differentials among racial/ethnic groups, socioeconomic backgrounds and other factors.

Local accountability system: In an effort to recognize and report on educational outcomes above and beyond standardized testing, Frisco ISD implemented a local accountability system several years ago.

FISD’s District Accountability Reports and Campus Accountability Reports provide information to schools and communities through the lens of the Future-Ready Framework.

Local accountability is a direct response to the fact that test-based state accountability systems fail to offer much information or insight into the actual changes or improvements that need to occur within a school.
