New Frisco ISD Series Shares Steps of Becoming a Teacher

Anyone interested in learning more about working for Frisco ISD is invited to join the virtual series.

By Rachel McReynolds

Frisco ISD has launched a new virtual program to connect community members with information about careers in education.

Frisco ISD Live will give participants a live opportunity to speak directly with members of the FISD Human Resources and Student Services teams. Whether you’re considering a career in teaching, exploring support roles or simply curious about opportunities within the District, including benefits of having your student enrolled in the District, Frisco ISD Live offers a welcoming space to get answers.

The program is open to anyone in the community, including:

Certified teachers who have taken time away from the classroom and are ready to return

Parents or professionals interested in making teaching a second career

Anyone seeking teaching or non-teaching roles in FISD

The District hopes Frisco ISD Live will make the process of exploring careers more accessible.

“It’s an easy way to meet people and share information,” said Kishawna Wiggins, director of human resources. “Education is changing, and so is the workforce. Frisco ISD Live gives us a way to answer questions and help people see the many paths available within Frisco ISD.”

Each session is designed to be facilitated by participant questions. HR representatives will share guidance tailored to both those who already hold degrees and certifications and those who may need to finish their education. Although some roles do not require a degree, a bachelor’s degree is required to become a teacher.

Frisco ISD Live reflects the District’s commitment to excellent customer service and community connection. By holding regular virtual sessions, FISD hopes to reach a wide range of people — from those interested in becoming teachers to those interested in other District roles.
