Cobb Recognized for Commitment to Student Achievement

Frisco ISD educators engage in Professional Learning Communities to ensure that all students achieve at high levels.

When students engage in lessons in a Frisco ISD classroom, weeks of thoughtful research, data and reflection have happened before a student enters the classroom.

Teachers thoughtfully reflect on the latest approaches and data on student learning in their classrooms to fine-tune lessons based on each class’s needs.

Solution Tree recently recognized Cobb Middle School as a Model PLC campus for its sustained success in raising student achievement.

Cobb Middle School’s educators are recognized for three key PLC areas of success:

A focus on learning.

A collaborative culture.

A results-driven orientation.

“Cobb’s teachers are exceptional and are committed to maintaining a culture of excellence,” said Cobb Principal Jamie Lakey. “We have been working toward this level of student success for several years. We are delighted that there is clear evidence that our faculty’s thoughtful collaboration has improved student learning!”

Solution Tree reviewed Cobb’s practices, structures and culture. The campus has demonstrated a sustained commitment to helping all students achieve at high levels and is also a model for other schools to follow.

Cobb was recognized by Solution Tree for its willingness to alter the structure and culture of the campus to reflect their commitment. Congratulations to Cobb Middle School on being recognized as one of only around 600 total schools in the nation as a Model PLC School!
